My First Week with Claude Code

This past week I shifted my focus toward exploring the capabilities of Claude Code. If you are trying to keep up with the breakneck speed of AI releases, you have likely seen the buzz. It is constant, with new services like Claude Cowork and Google’s Antigravity popping up alongside the standard web tools.

Initially, I was hesitant. I had become incredibly comfortable with the Claude web app. I spent several months refining an augmented workflow that allowed me to churn out documentation and release notes faster than I ever thought possible. I had a groove.

The Soul of the Technical Writer

This past weekend I finally pulled a special edition of Time magazine off my bookshelf. It is called "Artificial Intelligence: The Promise and The Perils." It has been sitting there for a while but I finally had the time to really dig into it. It covers a lot of ground from the basics of what AI is to the big questions about how it might impact humanity in both positive and negative ways.

One specific article jumped out at me because it hit on an epiphany I had last year. I am not going to retire as a technical writer.

2025 Year in Review

I just realized I haven't written a blog post in almost a year. I’ve been heads-down setting new goals in both my personal and professional life, focusing on growth not just as a Technical Writer, but as a human being. It felt like the right time to pause and reflect on the whirlwind that was 2025.

Spoiler alert: It was even better than 2024.

Last year was defined by two major themes, fitness and AI. Oddly enough, they intertwined in ways I didn't expect.
